Website Update

It has been a while since we have posted anything. We are still trying to get the hang of this "blog" thing. Our teenagers are laughing at us all the way! We will try to keep everything up to date and hopefully this will become easier as we learn!

When we decided to join forces in this new venture, we had no idea what a ride this would be. We have spent countless hours researching, studying and praying over our dream of becoming entreprenuers. Our web designer has been so patient with us as we learn all the internet lingo and Excel spreadsheets have become our new best friend. Sometimes we think we are about to have a brain overload! We just have to keep enjoying our delicious teas and looking at our absolutely adorable inventory and hoping that very, very soon we will be able to share it with the whole world!

Our web designer, Aaron, is such a blessing! You won't believe how awesome his work is - we can't wait for everyone to see it! Today we gave him the final approval for our home page. OOH LALA!! TOO CUTE!!! After months of orders, licensing, taxes, shipping, inventory, credit approvals, blah blah blah - we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! We are so excited!

Oh, by the way, just wanted to mention our Pick-Me-Up tea - one of the 22 flavors we will have available soon! We have decided that it's a miracle in a cozy, warm cup! Yummy!! Although it is an herbal tea - no caffeine - it really does Pick-Me-Up! So I can't decide if I should just head up to bed or pour myself a cup of tea and finish decorating for Christmas!

Until next time ~ Amy

Craft Show

We registered to do a craft show on Saturday, November 10. We were told this craft show was well attended, so we decided to give it a try and look to get our name out to the public. It was a very busy week of pricing our inventory and coordinating the colors for our booth, which was not very difficult because we used our signature pink, black and white theme. The booth was too cute. We were able to advertise our upcoming website and received a lot of positive feedback. We had Key Lime Pie iced tea available for tasting. It is a black tea that is delicious. The surprise seller at the show was the glass and black I-Pot. We are currently sold out. Our teas received rave reviews with the top seller being Cranberry Harvest.

In the Beginning

In May 2007, we met to chat about business ideas and the possibility of forming a partnership. Our families keep us very busy, but we decided that it was time to stop talking about our dreams and start living them. We both have always wanted to own a business so we researched and felt that opening a "modern day" tea room sounded like a blast. We both like tea - Amy prefers iced and Shellie likes it iced or hot. Amy is a great baker and Shellie likes to make it look beautiful. What a perfect combination. We started to investigate and view some possible sites in our area. A site of particular interest ended up going to another retailer, so we decided to persue the option of opening an online tea store complete with gourmet loose leaf teas and all the extra frills. We may open the "brick and mortar" business eventually, but for now we are moving forward into making our dreams become reality. Since May, we have been busy planning. At the end of September we placed our first order for inventory. In October, all the inventory started arriving. We were so excited the day our tea arrived on the DHL truck. The teas have lots of yummy names, they smell wonderful and they taste fabulous.
